The Bride
The Bride
I shot my first wedding today. I have never assisted on a wedding, or second shot on a wedding. This was my first. I was so scared, I laid awake last night for hours. I’m going on 22 hours being awake, and the feeling of accomplishment is making itself clear. Are they the best wedding photos ever? No. Can more experienced people do better? Absolutely. However, in the prism of my own prejudices, I couldn’t be happier with today. The bride and groom are amazing, hard working people, and I’m glad to have been able to call them friends since college. I’m so happy for them. I’ll miss them! Priscilla is moving down to NC to be with Alex while he attends medical school.

For this shot, I used my Canon Rebel T2i with a 24-105mm f/4 lens that my amazing friend Carl was nice enough to lend me. The Rebel had wide angles on it all day (including the Tokina 11-16), while I used the bride’s Nikon D80 with the Nikkor 50mm 1.8. Two handed all day long.

I am exhausted. I have soaked my clothes with sweat, and I am glad.

Goodnight.
